Helix Electric Inc. recently hosted its annual summer Intern Foundations Training at its corporate headquarters in San Diego. The training brought together first-semester interns from a variety of Helix offices and national universities for an intensive three-day immersive experience designed to cultivate the next generation of electrical construction professionals.

The comprehensive training featured hands-on technical training, including conduit bending and wiring basics, alongside executive mentorship opportunities with company leadership. Interns also engaged in team-building activities, while gaining practical insights into project lifecycles, renewable energy, and construction technology.

"Helix Electric’s intern program represents our commitment to developing future industry leaders by providing them with real-world experience on some of the most complex electrical projects in the country," said Boris Shekhter, president and CEO of Helix Electric, Inc., in the press release. "By investing in these talented students, we're not only strengthening our workforce pipeline but also prepare these men and women for an opportunity to explore a career in electrical construction.”

The program reflects Helix Electric's broader internship initiative, which pairs students with experienced mentors and offers exposure to field operations and corporate processes. Qualified interns receive housing support, relocation assistance, and other benefits as part of the company's talent development strategy.

Helix Electric extends its university outreach beyond internships. The company coaches college electrical teams for the ASC Regions 6 & 7 Student Competition, facilitates resume workshops and industry info sessions, and teaches Electrical Construction Labs. These labs take place at several universities, including the University of Cincinnati, Purdue, Virginia Tech, Colorado State University, Chico State, San Diego State University, California State University Fullerton, and Fresno State.
