The National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®) announced that the Southeast Florida Electrical Inspectors Association has been named the newest Electrical Inspection Section Affiliate Chapter (EIS). Through its affiliation with NFPA, the Southeast Florida Electrical Inspectors Association will support the state’s electrical inspection community, providing education, training, and opportunities for professional connection.

“NFPA is pleased to welcome the Southeast Florida Electrical Inspectors Association as an EIS Affiliate Chapter,” said Tim McClintock, NFPA lead regional electrical specialist and Executive Secretary of the Electrical Inspection Section. “This new partnership creates additional opportunities for NFPA and Southeast Florida’s electrical enforcement community, to share knowledge, collaborate on emerging safety challenges, and work together to promote safer communities across the state.”

McClintock added, “Strong electrical inspection programs play an essential role in protecting people and property and promoting consistent compliance of NFPA 70®, National Electrical Code® (NEC®)  and other safety codes and standards. Through the NFPA EIS Affiliate Chapter, electrical inspection professionals have an opportunity to connect, share their expertise, and strengthen their understanding and application of the NEC, while preserving the independent voice and perspective of the electrical inspection community.”

The Southeast Florida Inspectors Association joins a growing group of electrical inspector organizations nationwide that have formed NFPA EIS Affiliate Chapters, including associations in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Kentucky, Maryland, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, and Rhode Island. The chapters reflect NFPA’s continued efforts to expand support for electrical professionals across the U.S.
